About us
LAKE FUSION Technologies (LFT) (www.lf-t.net) is a deep-tech company that develops software and rule-based algorithms for highly automated systems. The company is divided into automotive, aviation and security segments.
LFT was founded in 2018 in Markdorf on Lake Constance (Baden-Württemberg) by former employees of the aviation group Airbus/Hensoldt. The three-member management team used their expertise, networks and experience to transfer the high safety standards of aviation to automated driving.
LFT develops advanced LiDAR-based solutions for aerospace, automotive and security applications. One of the central products is the ‚Situational Awareness System‘ (SitAwS), which is intended to help pilots reliably recognize obstacles such as power lines and cables.
LFT‘s goal is to continuously develop further fields of application for environment recognition on land, in the water and in the air.

Products & Services
The Situational Awareness System (SitAwS) is a sensor-based system to support the detection of obstacles, wires and objects even under adverse weather conditions in accordance with VFR during daytime and evening hours. Furthermore, the sensor-based situational awareness system shall use real-time sensor information as well as navigation data inputs to generate adequate and reliable information for the flight crew to provide a situational awareness view.
The SitAwS warns the pilot if one or more obstacles approach the helicopter to a predefined distance. At the pilot’s discretion, the SitAwS can provide additional support during hover, vertical takeoff, and landing phases, complementing standard flight procedures. A short aural alert notifies the crew when an obstacle enters a predefined observation area around the helicopter. The flight crew has the autonomy to decide whether to utilize the SitAwS display for obstacle detection via the SitAwS HMI.
The Safety-KIT ensures reliable safety for automated driving through environmental perception using rule-based algorithms and data fusion of various sensors.
